Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

BEFORE SCHOOL

To maintain a safe campus, we ask that students not arrive before 7:10 a.m. The following supervision procedures are for students who are on campus before school begins:

• All students will enter the campus through the gate next to the large parking lot if they arrive between 7:10 and 7:40 a.m.
• Breakfast will be served from 7:10-7:40 a.m.
• Students will remain in the cafeteria until the bell rings except for 3-5 graders.
  • 3-5 grade students will play on the upper-grade playground from 7:25-7:40.
• Students are not to be dropped off at the front doors of the school. There is no supervision in this area.
• Buses will drop off each morning at the side entrance located along La Canada Way.
• Buses will pick up students using the entrance located along La Canada Way.

END OF SCHOOL DAY

Please help us to make the end of the day as calm and safe as possible for everyone by:

• Parking in appropriate areas and walking to meet your child.
• Picking up your child at the curb:
  • Please do not allow your child to cross in front of any vehicles.
• Not blocking any crossing areas at any time.
• Demonstrating courtesy, patience, and safe driving while on school grounds.

• Students will not be called out of the classroom after 2:15 pm, unless the office was notified earlier in the day or there is an emergency.
• Teachers will walk students in Kindergarten and first second grade to the La Canada side of the school.
• Teachers will walk students in grades 2, 3, 4, and 5 to the large parking lot side of the school.
• School-wide expectations extend to bus riders, as well as our after-school program, ThinkTogether.
• When students are picked up late (over 10 minutes after dismissal), come to the front office and sign the student out.
